As a future focused company, ELLEGO is continuously searching for new ways to create value for both, people and planet. Over the years we have made a number of significant reforms to improve our CO2 management and reduce footprint.
Our factory is located in a beautiful countryside of Southwest Finland, surrounded by rich natural resources. Use of renewable energy has been a fundamental part of the sustainable development policy, which we have implemented over the years. Today all our facilities are powered by renewable energy sources – sun, wind and earth.
Most of the electricity consumed in our processes is generated by wind power through our electricity distributor, and the rest is self-generated by solar power. Our rooftop solar plant is designed to cover 100% of the energy required for the LED lighting in ELLEGO premises. Having a factory in Nordic region means that the outdoor temperature falls below zero every now and then, and heating can not be avoided. In ELLEGO we rely on Geothermal Heating System, that enables heat recovery from the earth. Furthermore, we are collecting the thermal energy generated during testing and using it to heat the property.
Environmental, social and financial aspects are equally important in sustainability framework, which is reflected in all our operations, not only in the footprint but also the finger print through our innovations, AGL 3.0 being one of the latest releases. We take the requirements of sustainability into consideration in all design, manufacturing and stakeholder cooperation.
